Mangrove Route

The tour starts in one of the most beautiful scenes of the Espírito Santo's coast: the old Cais do Hidrovião (pier of the hydroplane), in the neighborhood of Santo Antonio, one of the most traditional of the city. In a well-equipped schooner and in total security, the tour goes into the interior of the mangroves (Reserva do Lameirão). This is the biggest urban mangrove in Latin America. With 900 hectares, it is mainly supplied by the river Santa Maria. It is possible to see some crabs, fish and birds, including the three types endemic to the mangrove. You will also have the chance to see that a mangrove does not always represent a dirty place; in the Mangrove of Vitória the water is so clean that it is difficult to resist diving in. We will be accompanied by a biologist who will presentthe region, in conjunction with the local guide. We will make a 90-minute stop in the Ilha das Caieiras to taste the delicious moqueca, the traditional fish stew of Espírito Santo.
